For me Assualt on Precinct 13 is a perfect solution to the scourge of remakes - instead of re-doing Rio Bravo and Night of the Living Dead, Carpenter fused both together and came up with something entirely new and wonderful. Young screenwriters - by all means steal from movies, don't photocopy 'em...

I thought the remake was OK! For what it was, anyway.

I actually enjoyed the Assault On Precinct 13 remake. Not as good as the original, but pretty decent nonetheless.

I'm exactly the same – it's glossy and slightly superficial, but Laurence Fishburne and Gabriel Byrne are both really good and I quite like how the story differs from the original.
