The curse of Cult Labs strikes again as I've just taken the plunge based on the reviews I've read here and ordered the Region A US Blu-ray release of Starry Eyes (for just over £15 from eBay)!

I figured it wasn't worth buying the cheaper DVD because I know if I like it (a distinct probability based on the opinions of people whose taste in film I largely agree with) I'll end up wanting to upgrade to Blu-ray release anyway!

The photography and score are best served on Blu ray IMO

I've read it's an impressive AV experience so, working on the 'buy cheap, buy twice' school of thought, I figured it better to go with the more expensive HD disc than watch it on DVD and immediately want to upgrade that to one of the two Blu-ray releases.

I like the two Now You See Me films, saw the second one with my eldest at the cinema and he ended up buying me the blu for Christmas the other year. Didn’t think much to Sky Captain though

Bought The Conversation (Hackman) on dvd & noticed Sky have a few conspiricy movies available to watch, none of which I've seen, are any of the following any good:

KLUTE
THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR
THE PARALAX VIEW

Simply because it's a genre I've never explored & thought I'd catch up on a few that are regarded as classics.

I just got around to watching The Villainess (great film), but I didn’t notice anything like that.
