Enjoy ... whatever you do watch ...
Just picked a few random blu rays out to see what they look like. Tried Top Gun looks so clear then I tried two of the best looking blu rays I own Jaws and Street Trash actually looks like they are in the room with you its that realistic looking. I can only imagine what a 4K film will look like using a 4K player.

Ahem. Have fun ....

If you have a setup where you can have a couple of players linked into the TV, you might find it interesting to get a multi format release of the same film (I did this with Guardians of the Galaxy 2) and set the Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD disc playing simultaneously. I was really impressed with AV quality from the standard Blu-ray until I saw and heard its 4K counterpart and realised how comparatively dull the picture looked without HDR and how flat the DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack was compared to the Dolby Atmos one.

I did the same a couple of days ago with The LEGO Movie, something I thought was a beautiful looking picture in 1080p until watching it in 2160p with HDR. Blade Runner is definitely one of the most impressive films I've seen (and heard), as is Kong: Skull Island, mother!, Wonder Woman (which someone could hear from the pavement outside!), and the John Wick films.

I've only seen The Eye, which I highly rate, and hope you like as much as I do. However, you may have an issue for some time afterwards if you rely on lifts in your everyday life!

A turd is still a turd though. No matter how polished it looks.

Maybe, but GotG2 is not a turd – I have enjoyed it on every viewing and the events became even more impactful in Avengers: Infinity War. I don't think it's the best 'episode' in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series of films, but it's a funny, engaging and occasionally moving film – I'm glad there will be a third instalment but it'll be interesting to see when it is set relative to Infinity War.

Getting back on topic, I received a box from Music Magpie today containing:
  • Welcome to Collinwood
  • The Sweet Hereafter
  • The Son’s Room
  • Rabbit Hole
  • Passchendaele
  • Bridge to Terabithia
  • *batteries not included
  • Taken: Extended Harder Cut
  • Colombiana
  • The Apparition
