It’s a couple of ‘the day before payday and I still have some money’ purchases. The Wes Anderson is a double dip but the Criterion has been reduced for the first time since it was released 2 years ago and it’s been on my list since then!

One of the reviews I read did say that although the premise has been used for Speed it's not as high octane and this is more dramatic and measured. So I will let you know, it's 150 minutes though so I wont be watching until Saturday probably.

Two and a half hours and it's not high octane.

I will await your verdict

Picked this up today from Cex. Going to watch it tonight. Not seen it in years. Really looking forward to it. This release is well out of print so delighted to find it. Metallic embossed slip case and all.

My recent purchases, mostly from HMV and direct from 88 Films. I've only seen the first two seasons of True Detective, so I am looking forward to watching them again and then going on to the third season.

I've seen the seventh season of Fear the Walking Dead, but want the option to rewatch it without a Prime membership.

I've never seen Tentacles, but it should be entertaining. I've seen Burial Ground many times and, from a brief scan through the disc, the 4K picture with HDR and Dolby Vision could make it look almost like a new film.

True Detective wasn't something on my radar until very recently. I was on a Folk horror site and it discussed how the first season of the show has so many strands of folk horror running through it.

It really piqued my interest and aim to get it in the next couple of weeks.

The first season is outstanding. I think I wasn't as impressed by the second season, but still thought it was a very fine piece of longform storytelling.

That box set is half price at HMV and the third season is in the 2 for £15 selection, so let me know if you would like either or both from there.
