I don't really know what it is. In general I really like Joe Dante's work. He's made two of my favourite films.

It's a good little horror film until she turns in to a werewolf her transformation in to a werewolf doesn't works because when she does she looks more like someone's pet dog than a werewolf.

That's right at the very end. It can easily be ignored. It was as if they were setting up a sequel that never came. Or at least a sequel very different to Howling II.

The only scenes from the film that stand out and stick with me are in the bookshop with the wonderful Dick Miller. I've had a little peruse of the disc this evening and I have to say the transfer doesn't get me particularly excited. We'll see though.

New arrivals from Amazon. Pleased that The Dunwich Horror and Audrey Rose are still first pressings with booklets.

Although I haven't seen Shadow of the Vampire in a long time, I remember being very impressed with the performances, particularly John Malkovich, Eddie Izzard, and Willem Dafoe, and the interesting take on the making of F.W. Murnau's classic vampire film, Nosferatu.
SymbioticFunction likes this.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a UK blu yet. It seems perfect for one of the boutique labels.
