I think A Nightmare on Elm Street is one of the best and most important American horror films of the 1980s and a film I don't tire of watching, but that's for another thread!

Yeah I call mine an ongoing project - the order last year was a lot different, and I proabably added about 20 new titles. So yeah, there were a bunch that had to get kicked out altogether.

Cool horror list, lots of my picks there, and lots that didn't quite make the grade (Peeping Tom was #101) . . .

1. Monster squad
2. Little monsters
3. Ping pong
4. Knocked up
5. Rushmore
6. Mallrats
7. Dawn of the dead (original)
8. Total recall
9. Waterboys (not the waterboy)
10. Edward scissorhands

After a lot of thinking I finally got my top ten!
I know it's quite random lol

Cool

Or the problem of making your list, sitting back checking it out only for...

A. you remember a couple of greats that you left off, Doh.

B. seeing and enjoying a new film that's as good if not better than half on the list(this ones cool tho), Doh.

C. Losing the list, Doh, Doh.

When I was younger and living in the states I bought a big calendar and put all the genre movies I saw on the dates I saw em, gave em a star rating. That was in 76 at the dawn of cable TV, 13 channels with loads of double features Friday and Saturday nights, great fun. My list today might top 500 faves.

I love Zombie 3 but it is too bad to be my fav, so on balance, I think that I will agree with Nosferatu's choice - A Nightmare on Elm Street! Excelant film!!

1) trainspotting
2) lord of the rings (yes I said it)
3) Up
4) Every Tim Burton film, I guess Edward Scissorhands if I had to choose
5) Run Lola Run
