I used to love the film but haven't seen in a while, however the soundtrack has never left rotation in my house as my mum loves it as well

Bram Stoker's Dracula - Vampire Hunters.

Dark and brooding. In fact the film would be far lower in my estimations without Kilar's magnificent score.

Dammit... this is also one of my all time favourite albums, but to be fair I always forget it's a soundtrack, it's just a Philip Glass album to me
I agree completely, whilst the first film is a classic, the third is far more effective and creative use of scoring, creating massive intensity. The scoring of the opening credits sells it every time for me without fail.

As for Koyaaniqatsi, I nearly forgot it as well for a similar reason, as I thought it wouldn't come under a film score due to it's nature.

Also speaking of Phillip Glass, I FORGOT CANDYMAN

I love this one too! I actually loaned it from the library on the same day I borrowed the Coppola's Dracula soundtrack - back in god knows when... 1994?

Mine could have easily been 10 Carpenter soundracks! Gutted I had to leave off Ghosts of Mars and Prince of Darkness
