Both obscure, both great and both not highly rated.

party animal.jpeg

This is the one, Hopeless virgin tries everything to get laid, everything goes wrong till he invents a potion making him irresistible to women, but even that goes wrong.
Features music from Buzzcocks, R.E.M, The Specials.

This is the horror spoof, i used to watch this on T.V a lot and think there are some great one liners, just takes the piss out of all the classic horrors, in an airplane style way.
Loses it at the end and a lot of people don't get it, but in my opinion shits all over Scary Movie and modern spoofs.

I love Burial ground/ I drink your blood and Killers Moon but i don't feel guilty at all for those.
Flesh and Visitor are both good, Never seen Night train.

Here's my Top Ten (ahem) films that i adore and think are bordering on genius, but are not thought highly of.
(guilty because i like them much more than i really should)

Wacko (a horror spoof, that in my opinion is a classic0
Streets Of Fire (very very 80's but amazing)
Zardoz
Party Animal ( hardly known at all, but one of my favourite films ever.)
The Goonies
Flash Gordon
Meet The Feebles
Shock Treatment
Beastmaster
The Monster Club

Psychomania
Killer Clowns from outer space

And now i'm spent.op2:
Not quite so sure about your second list mate. Anyone who thinks you should be guilty for liking Streets of Fire needs a slap, send them to speak to Stephen. However you need a slap for liking The Goonies, go speak to Dem.

Streets of fire is so 80's music video, There also seems to be a lot of shit blowing up but no one seemed to get hurt and the big fight at the end with sledge hammers no one seems to get hurt if i remember.
Someone would have had their face totally smashed in.
Like i say i love it, but it feels a bit tame.

Goonies i love for the kids, Chunk is a legend (i saw it at about 10 so was perfect timing), the booby traps and the slightly inappropriate moments ( that's my mums favourite piece.) but find the Sloth and the bad guys a bit embarrassing at points. Although the Ma is mostly good.

I don't think Streets of Fire is particularly 80's if I'm being honest. I think it's got a bit of a alternative universe thing going on. It looks a bit 50's/60's but obviously isn't.

True about the design, cars etc.
But the cutting, music and certain characters seemed very 80's to me.
