Yeah, Bond Girls and Hammer Glamour Sirens alone could fill quite a few lists.

I tried to stick purely to 'character' though rather than actress, and 'sexy' as opposed to just beautiful, which helped shorten the list a great deal.

Exactly, which is why I avoided both Bond girls and Hammer sirens, trying to stick to more contemporary and classic 'sexy' characters. I gave Gilda an honourable mention, but could have also made a top 10 of film noir femmes fatales, whether 'classical' noir (Rita Haworth, Barbara Stanwyck, Lana Turner, Ava Gardner) or more contemporary films and neo-noir (Sean Young in Blade Runner, Isabella Rossellini in Blue Velvet, Linda Fiorentino in The Last Seduction, Marion Cotillard in the Dark Knight Rises and Inception, Eva Green in Sin City 2).

I suppose Audrey Horne (Sherilyn Fenn) is a femme fatale in Twin Peaks, as is Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct and even Jessica Rabbit!

Liv Tyler in One Night at McCools. Damn! Totally overlooked that.

I thought about Melanie Griffith in Milk Money and Anouska Hempel as Tiffany Jones as well.

To be honest it could have been a very long list.

I should have been butchered at birth for failing to put Leia Organa from Return of the Jedi (1983) at number one. Together, her and Samantha Fox, well i'll say no more.
