Not quite, but specific genre/decade lists are extremely easy to filter out on Criticker.

I wouldn't have expected The Prestige to be classed as sci-fi. However i've only seen it once and can't recall an awful lot about it. I'll have to dig it out and give it a rewatch.

I preferred The Illusionist to Nolan's film if truth be told. I've seen that two or three times now.

It certainly doesn't start off that way, however once Nikola Tesla (Bowie) is introduced and the resultant experimentation leading up to the film's conclusion it certainly transposes events into the realms of sci-fi.

Other way around for me.

  1. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
  2. The Martian (2015)
  3. Intersteller (2014)
  4. Ex Machina (2015)
  5. A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
  6. Wall-E (2008)
  7. Super 8 (2011)
  8. Moon (2009)
  9. Children of Men (2006)

All of the sites where I register my diaries and collections keep telling me that the Marvel movies are Sci-Fi and while technically I suppose they are I chose not to include any of them because they are 'Comic Book Movies'

There's an awful lot of recent sci-fi i haven't seen. In fact barely any from the last five years. Except dross like Source Code and Limitless.

Normally i write out a quick list as soon as i see the subject, then add some more as i remember them, then edit the list. (then forget to post it till it's too late).

This is fairly straightforward as i haven't seen loads i rate or really enjoyed.

Star Wars-the force awakens
Beyond the black rainbow
Moon
Donnie Darko
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
Under the skin
Mad Max- fury road
Dawn of the planet of the apes
The worlds end
Battle royale
