I don't how I forgot about Fargo – I'll have to change my list.

I don't think the weather was a major element in the story – it's more about the dog – that I guess it's down to each viewer and how they interpret the film.
Ah that makes sense. I don't remember it all that well.

Not a surprise – I don't think Cujo is very good.

Yeah, easily one of King's weakest stories.

From Wikipedia:
"Stephen King discusses Cujo in On Writing, referring to it as a novel he "barely remembers writing at all". The book was written during a period when King was drinking heavily. King goes on to say that he likes the book and that he wishes he could remember enjoying the good parts as he put them down on the page."

It brings a whole new meaning to the term 'hair of the dog'!

I'll see myself out...

Although I haven't read it, I wish I could write a bestselling book while out of my skull on booze!

I'm trying to word this correctly, The Thing. Superb film. But it's set in the Antarctic. Surely that's not so much weather as an environmental norm? Same reason I've not included Fargo, isn't it always like that in Minnisota?

There are many films which have been mentioned where the weather is not unexpected, such as tornadoes in The Wizard Of Oz, an iceberg in Titanic, snow in Cold Prey or The Shining and extreme heat in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre or Tracks.

The category doesn't stipulate whether the weather is unusual or native to that area, just whether it plays a predominant factor in the film.

Doesn't Minnesota average around 80 in the summer ? Minneapolis, where most of Fargo is set gets even warmer.
