That's genuinely interesting, Mojo. Do you see the 'souls' as zombies. I always presumed they were ghosts as Mary was in limbo throughout. Limbo being completely different to undead. The carnival of souls being the ghosts or ghouls in the pavilion. |

I was unsure whether to include this one as, like you say, they could be ghosts. It's never really made clear - but that is one of the fascinating aspects of this wonderfully unique movie. The same argument could be levelled at LET'S SCARE JESSICA TO DEATH - another wonderfully atmospheric film.

I only just bought Jessica recently. Look forward to watching it either in spooky old October or December. |

I'll include it in a top ten ghost movies list too! Looking forward to reading your views on JESSICA.

I've never considered the 'others' in Carnival of Souls to be zombies, but spirits or ghosts. Similarly, Let's Scare Jessica to Death has always struck me as a (very effective) ghost film, not a zombie movie.

Zombie films seemed to be a popular topic, so the logical step would be to follow it with their undead, blood sucking counterparts. Vampire Films
