Frankenstein films that don't contain the word 'Frankenstein'
  • The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Tim Curry as a mad scientist who sets out to create life. Sound familiar? At least we never got to see Colin Clive or Peter Cushing in lingerie!
  • Carry On Screaming: To start with, there is Dr. Watt, who needs regular bursts of electricity to keep himself rejuvenated, and then there is Oddbod and Oddbod Jr
  • Frankenweenie: Tim Burton's wonderful stop-motion homage to Mary Shelley's creature. Lucky owners of the Blu-Ray release also get the original 1984 live action version, with Daniel Stern and Shelley Duvall
  • Frankenhooker: Wanna date? Bad taste splatter comedy about a man who tries to bring his dead girlfriend back after she is killed by a lawnmower! [Apparently, when director Frank Henenlotter was trying to get an MPAA rating, he was told "Congratulations, you're the first film rated S." "S? For sex?" "No, S for shit"]
  • The Brain Of Morbius: Classic, scary Doctor Who story
  • Blackenstein: Inept and hilarious blaxploitation version of the story. 10 out of 10 for the monsters 'fro tho!
  • The Spirit Of The Beehive: Beautiful Spanish drama about a young girl who becomes fascinated with the creature after viewing a screening of Whale's 1931 film
  • Edward Scissorhands: Vincent Price makes Johnny Depp
  • Day Of The Dead: Anyone who is even more pedantic that I am would argue that this is actually a zombie film, but I would point them in the direction of the character who has the nickname 'Frankenstein'!

Presumably you have never had to wear a tight corset. If you have done, you would know that they are nasty things that could only have been designed by De Sade!
Rik, keirarts and Prince_Vajda like this.

It's my favourite screen adaptation.
That's one person she doesn't like as a actor considering she had a crush on him in the 80s

I hope you've been enjoying revisiting the classic 'monsters' of horror film, with vampires, zombies, werewolves and Dr Frankenstein and his creation. That leaves two: Invisible Man and the Mummy.

As there are only 10 films adapted from H.G. Wells' novel, Invisible Man would make for a pretty boring selection of lists, so it makes much more sense to do films featuring, in the lead or prominent role, a Mummy. For the purposes of definition, that would be a human preserved in a ritual by chemicals, normally (though not exclusively) by Egyptians.

As such, this week's topic is:

Mummy Films

NB if you so wish, you could make a compilation list of Invisible Man and Mummy films, or do one of each.
