I seem to be the only one who could do a list if ten films of each that I genuinely liked. Surprised no one seems to like the others or hollywoodland. Both good movies imo.

I've never seen Hollywoodland so can't comment either way. As for The Others, here is what I wrote about it when I revisited it in 2016:

Quote:
Worth a look, but if you want to see a great adaptation of Henry James' infamous and oft referenced story 'The Turn of the Screw', rather than just an okay one, then I'd point you in the direction of Jack Clayton's The Innocents.
Worth a look, but nothing special - at least to me.

New week, new topic. A very broad one which you can expand for different lists incorporating 'classic' and 'neo' variations on the subject, so please don your fedoras, try and resist the lure of the femme fatale and head on down those rain washed, neon lit streets.

Top 10 Modern Noir

Reservoir Dogs (1992)
LA Confidential (1997)
Seven (1995)
Fargo (1996)
The Grifters (1990)*
Heat (1995)
Sin City (2005)
Insomnia (2002)
Red Rock West (1993)

It was tough to leave these out

Night Crawler (2014)

It's not often this can be said, but every film i've just listed i think is a classic and at least worthy of a score of 8/10.
