It took me a while to narrow it down to 25! Picking only one Dupieux film was a task in itself.

I'll give it a shot though.

I think I know how you feel, only I only have one Dupieux film (Rubber) because I've yet to see his others.

I'm struggling not to include almost every Marx Brothers film, and several by other filmmakers like Woody Allen, David Lynch, the Coen Brothers, Jean-Pierre Jeunet and/or Marc Caro, Alexandria Jodorowsky, Luis Bunuel, and Charlie Kaufman/Spike Jonze which could be defined as absurdist.

Utter shite yes, perhaps The Babadook is absurd, certainly the idea of anyone liking it is.

I thought you were a fan of The Bed Sitting Room, one I have on my long list, or did I imagine that? I also seem to remember you liking Birdman, which is also cited as absurd because of the inherent contradictions of its central character.

Absurd films don't have to be nonsensical – that's just one part of the definition. My understanding was the definition could include making the mundane silly, just like Monty Python did with organised religion in The Life of Brian or Stanley Kubrick did with the cold war in Dr. Strangelove.
