Excellent list, and good call with Bubba Ho-Tep. That's a film I really like and will be going on my list.

I haven't seen any of these but I have just read about them and they all sound interesting and worth watching. I listened to the Singles soundtrack some time ago on Spotify and loved it.

Don't know about you Justin but it seemed wrong not going with films such as Dazed and Confused, Empire Records, American Graffiti, Easy Rider and Detroit Rock City - films where music plays such a big part in the viewing experience yet they aren't films about music nor musicians.

Yes, perhaps there should be a 'jukebox musical' category so we can add all of those Like the first 4 are among my favourites, DRC is a crap film but I still love it

As you say, they are films which show how integral music can be to the feeling and flow of the movie. Also,, songs like 'Born to Be Wild' in Easy Rider, and Misirlou in Pulp Fiction can become inextricably linked to the film which brought the music to the mainstream.

Thanks to everyone who contributed a list of their favourite 10 films about musicians which made for some enjoyable reading.

The topic for this week is a simple one and links in with a new film to Netflix which reunites someone generally considered one of the finest screen actors with one of the greatest directors.

He's been making films since 1973, been nominated for seven Academy Awards, has won two Oscars, and is one of the most celebrated and acclaimed actors of all time.

ROBERT DE NIRO FILMS
