Top Ten Movies Set in Paris. (Plus one for good luck)

Hugo (2011)
Angel-A (2005)*
Taken (2008)
From Paris with Love (2010)
How to Steal a Million (1966)
So Long at the Fair (1950)
Paris When It Sizzles (1964)
Girl on the Bridge (1999)
Bande Ã* part (1964)
Rififi (1955)
District 13 (2004)

As there are so many films set in Paris i decided to go for those exclusively set in the city. No jet setters. So the Bonds, Mission Impossible's, GI Joe: The Rise of COBRA (Superb action set piece in the city) and er' Euro Trip were left out. Les Diaboliques in the future will be quite prominent in the list but as i've only seen it once i'll leave it out.

I so wanted to like The Horde. A mate bought it me one year for Christmas plus a t-shirt from the film.

The tee is awesome but despite watching the film three times i could not get into it. I hated every single character, there wasn't a single person i wanted to root for.

In the end i got rid of the film. I was really disappointed i didn't like it.

I toyed with this in my list for quite a while as it's a lot of fun, but decided it was a jet setter film so left it out.

Hopefully one day Nos will do a topic where we can go with films like Raiders, Adele Blanc- Sec, Brendan Fraser's Mummy, National Treasure and so on.

God knows what the title subject would be though.

Easier might be a list of jet setter / Globe trotting films - Films that take place in multiple countries - Bonds, Bourne's M:I's. Even stuff like Euro Trip and some Jess Franco films would fit, Harry Alan Towers movies too. They went all over the place in sixties spy spoofs and rip offs like Deadlier Than the Male.

I also really like the film but don't consider it to be one which is set in Paris because, as you said, it is about a travel writer who goes to multiple locations. I know most of the film takes place in Paris but want to concentrate on films which are set entirely in the city.

In answer to your overall point about a possible topic, maybe one about adventurers, explorers, and discoverers would include Adèle Blanc-Sec, Indiana Jones, National Treasure, Tomb Raider, Sahara, The New World and many others.
