Santa's Slay. Wrestler Bill Goldberg plays the evil Santa in this who lost a bet with Elf Robert Gulp to be nice but when the bet is up Santa goes on a killing spree. The first three minutes, into the film with a cameo from James Caan who is with his family and seems spiteful then the black humour starts so you know this isn't to be taken seriously, even the kills are hilarious and plenty of quirky tongue in cheek comments along the way. 7b306504566a95f170e5c9708bed94f97d8e18e51d2b773467f9a5e638c661ad.jpg

A Christmas Carol. A twisted darker version of Charles Dickens novel, this time Guy Pearce plays the old miser who isnt shy about dropping the F-bomb words in and not hiding the fact that he is a cruel man who thinks money can biy him anything.sprwad over 3 episodes and told differently the acting is spot on, the set pieces are what ypu would expect from the time period and cinematography is at its best even though at times it can feel like a strain on the eyes, but its worth checking out. To All A Good Night. David Hess who is probably best know for starring in Wes Craven's The Last House On The Left and House On The Edge Of The Park, swaps roles from being a actor to director for this little Christmas slasher that combines Black Christmas and Prom Night. After the death of a girl in a "accident" a group of college kids are stalked and killed by someone dressed in a Santa Claus outfit. The plot itself isn't something new and mentioned in the comment above but does give you a reveal on who the killer is and then throws in a little curve ball. The acting is never the best and never gets better, and does have some poor lighting throughout so can be a bit of a strain on the eyes. This is one of those that once you see it that's it, not one I can watch over again and again. p43368_v_v10_ac.jpg

Lost Hearts (1973) I always find child-centric films so divisive at best, so two blue dead kids nodding their heads from side to side sporting inane grins whilst playing a bloody hurdy gurdy was never really going to win me over. Besides it's way too creepy. Not like so many others of the Ghost Stories for Christmas which are welcoming, cosy, fireside viewings across the festive season. Then again. Lost Hearts is set on Halloween so what do you expect. |

It’s one of my favourites and I watched it in late October this year and thoroughly enjoyed it again! I haven’t watched anything festive yet this year so far, I’ll see how I feel later after work, might watch some Ghost Stories from vol 2 though!

No feel good Christmas classics yet. Need to begin as the month is quickly going by. |

I love the thrilling neo-classical almost thrash metal score on the end credits. Rather than building up it begins full throttle then slowly takes it down to a quiet orchestral part right at the death. I bet Tobias Forge is in torment wishing it was on a Ghost album. |

-A Christmas Horror Story. Nothing beats a good anthology movie whether it be for any time of the year and especially this one as the tales are all Christmas themed. The segments are broken up into bits so that they are not all shown at once, sounds confusing but it's not. Just as you think something will happen and cuts to a different part. Like most anthology tales there is a curve ball thrown in then the big finale twist mixed in with some creative writing and direction. The acting is decent and everyone puts in a decent effort with some good creative kills and blood splatter with a few decent jump scares. p12031612_v_h9_aa.jpg (FYI, best watched in the dark or low lightning)
