Watched initially with the comm (Walker being his usual self effacing self ahem) until it started repeating passages! Fault or stretching out an hour's worth of chat to the whole film? Hmmm. So just restarted it.
A charming family tale as old as time unfurls when the past is brought to bear on the present.
As old as time? Not in these parts. Might be up in Sawney Bean country where you hang out. Just witches round here.

I suppose Keith qualifies as a witch though.

Yes, that one.
Just as awful as you've heard, but I quite liked it tbh. Literally a feminist assault on masculinity with songs
Ahem. A must see for maniacs like myself.
Is big Ben supposed to be suggestive or is that just my filthy mind?

Men (2022, Alex Garland)

Where to start?
The scenery's lovely. Er ....
Getting away from it all in the country? Why not. The fresh air, lovely scenery and rustic charm abound surely? The ideal antidote to what ails ye city slickers oo ar oo ar
But it seems the past has a long reach ....
Echoes of many things. Post folk horror???? Hmmm.

I enjoyed it but the crowd in the cinema was restless to say the least which kind of spoiled it.

Adventures Of A Private Eye (1977, Stanley Long)

I get the feeling with this one that someone brought a murder mystery script to Long, and he thought " how can I get some shagging into this??"

When the office gopher is left in charge, he disobeys orders and trails after Suzy Kendall (well ...) who comes to him with a tale of woe.
A few familiar faces litter the landscape.
I prefer my saucy titilation to have less corpses for all that ...
Ahem.

Renown Pictures via Talking Pictures TV seem to have a summer dvd promotion on.

Four dvd's for £20 delivered.

https://talkingpicturestv.co.uk/reno...s-summer-sale/

The excellent sci-fi horror Night Caller starring John Saxon is the first title listed and i can vouch for it looking very good. It's a real fave of mine.

Also there are genre films - Out of the Fog / Radio Cab Murder, Fall of the House of Usher (1950), Greed of William Hart, Ghost Camera / Juggernaut and House in Marsh Rd, / Monkeys Paw

The House That Vanished (1973, Joseph Larraz)

AKA Scream And Die!
A sombre wee thing this. I return to it often.
Where's that 4K as well, as I've always wanted to see what's what in certain scenes
Ahem.
A young model finds more than bright lights in the city when a trip to the country turns up more than a few snapshots. I'd say more, but the print I have has a rather noticeable green line running throughout it and it distracts me somewhat everytime. Ahem.

Love Honour & Obey (Dominic Anciano/ Ray Burdis)

Geezer flick with the Operation Good Guys crew.
Not as funny as I'd hoped, though Perry Benson's various mishaps do raise a chuckle or two.
Sick Boy plays a wannabe who latches on to a local face whom he went to school with. His enthusiasm gets his firm into hot water and it all comes to a head at a wedding.
It just doesn't quite rise above the varied cliches that this sub genre has in spades tbh. Shame. I love OGG and would quite frankly preferred a film with them tbh.
