I pre-ordered this from play when it was at £12.99 in September - it didn't say it was a steelbook at the time, and now it's increased to £17.99!

I was going to get Shogun Assassin anyway but the news that it's a steelbook just sweetens the deal.

Yes, I'll be getting the UK BD of Sogun Assassin since the US release is region-locked. I'm hoping the trend will continue of releasing comparative editions of region-locked titles here in the UK. I'd imagine it would be easier than with DVD as with hi-def there's a standardised global format, which means one master can be used for all territories.

The UK Steel will be mine as well - hopefully Amazon has the preorder up soon.

I'm another one who will buy the UK BD, steelbook or not.

I hope a UK company can do this with Vampire Circus

Is Vampire Circus set to be region-locked, then? Synapse don't usually lock their titles.

I think UK rights still reside with Carlton, so hopefully they'll be giving the UK an HD release if we're locked out of the US release.

That's what I was thinking, Daemonia. I have a few Synapse dvds and they are all region free. I couldn't access the link, so I presumed the worst.

It would be a superb first Blu-ray Hammer release. So, here's hoping....

Well, it's a BD/DVD combo pack, so I'll be picking it up anyway, as even if I'm locked out of the BD I can still watch the DVD. I'm looking out for reviews to see if it'll be region-locked or not. And, to whet your appetite, here's the cover...

I'm not sure it's any cause for alarm yet with Vampire Circus. Last I read from Don May Jr a few weeks ago was that he wasn't sure what the contract stated and he was hoping to make it all-region. Maybe Diabolik are just covering their bases by stating Region A as it's not even out for a little while yet. They'd probably get in a bit of trouble if they sold them as all region pre-orders and then it turned up locked. Here's hoping...
