I'm not really bothered if they cut animal cruelty as it tends to ruin my enjoyment of a film.

Any cuts to a film are unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. But that's just me.

Me too, S. I'd rather see a film, warts and all, than have a prettified version. The horses were tripped up no matter what. What good does cutting it out now do? It presents a false image of the film and the time's film-making to cut things out, no matter how ugly.

I agree that cutting it isn't going to undo what has already been done, but, as I said, it often ruins MY enjoyment of a film. And thats all I care about. Thankfully it doesn't really happen anymore, except in asian cinema.

Wonder If Blue Velvet will get a barebones release here. I wouldn't put it past Universal.
