No I haven't, but like you say Bette Davis is worth giving it a watch for.

More appealing to me than a sphere in a silly box.

I'll be buying it if it's region free, otherwise I'll have to wait for the Arrow non-special set. presuming they do one like they did for Hellraiser.

The only problem with Well Go is expect poor encodes. The individual Phantasm remastered blu Ray was apparently only a BD25 and the transfer needed more breathing room to reach full potential.

I noticed that while I was looking on bluray.com to see if the individual 1 and 5 discs were region free (they are) and saw it was a BD25, however with a running time of less than 90 mins and not much in the way of extras you could almost cap bitrates. That being said a dual layer disc would be better because as you add extra features that's going to take away from the film!

I imagine the box set to be the exact same discs that they've already released. Did anyone buy the individual remastered Phantasm?

Best I've ever seen it look, and I've lost count of the numerous editions of Phantasm I've owned.

Oh it still look fantastic, I saw it projected in 4K during the Melbourne International Film Festival in one of its first post SXSW premiere screenings, and it blew me away not only how good it looked, but just amazing the sound was too.

That being said, whilst the blu Ray is still pretty good, for a film with a lot of dark scenes, it could definitely use a bit of extra breathing room to prevent the compression from being noticeable
