Oh but you must! They really are a tumultuous step down but there's fun to be had in witnessing their awfulness on almost every level and imagining what Lee was thinking while it was all going on.

I've actually been thinking of digging them out again myself as it's been a little while since the last time. Probably best to try and get them both watched in one night else you may not make it to Castle if you leave it.

The first one was released by MYA as well. Good picture quality but i've heard the film is not as good as the first. One I keep meaning to buy myself!

Return of the Living Dead

Not keen. Maybe I shouldn't have watched Dead Alive and Frankenhooker directly before. This seemed to lack the spark that made the other two so damn fun. I found the direction really flat and lifeless (no pun intedned), and performances were mostly dire and the characters unlikable. A few things I liked - the chief zombie looked great, I liked the dawning realizaion that the two guys was already dead, and the theme tune was alright. Apart from that, a bit of a letdown . . .

They were my thoughts the first time I watched it. I watched the Movie again on blu ray with original audio a couple of nights ago and absolutely loved it. Shame when some of the good characters, like Suicide and the guy with the mohawk dies. The Original Punk soundtrack is amazing, I went and got it afterwards.

I thought the only decent characters were the two guys from the opening scenes who got gassed. The rest I never gave a shit about, and actively disliked all of the kids (kind of like a punkier version of the 'kids' from Greese ). I'm in no rush to rewatch . . .
