HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS. Slightly better than "Van Helsing". Is it wrong to say that Gemma Arterton looks even more attractive after being beaten up than before. Works for me. Here's a totally unrelated picture.

Watched Amityville II - The Possession last night. Really enjoyed it, one of the best horror movies I've seen in a little while really.
While I quite like the first one this one is much better and I like the way the house almost seems to take advantage the family's already existing instabilities. Presenting the evil in the house as a more intelligent and purposeful force was also a winner for me. Not bad for a quid from Poundland, now to track down a better edition.

Well the scream factory release is good but region locked. There is actually a UK special edition in a nice case that has a KIM NEWMAN commentary track and decent picture quality.

Amityville II: The Possession Collector's Edition DVD: Amazon.co.uk: Burt Young, Diane Franklin, Rutanya Alda, Ted Ross, James Olson, Moses Gunn, Martin Donegan, Jack Magner, Leonardo Cimino, Andrew Prine, John Ring, Damiano Damiani, Ira N. Smith

So glad more people are finally discovering this gem!

Now I need to start promoting SIMON KING OF THE WITCHES!

Yeah that Uk Collectors Edition is the one I'll probably get.
Not region free yet when it comes to blu.
Now I've got to give Part 3 a whirl. And a quick peek at the disc from Poundland suggests that it isn't a patch on the second. Picture is fuzzy and out of focus and looks awful.

Yep, I used to have the Tartan VHS years ago. Very sexy movie, and some good witty stuff in there as well. Better than any Almodovar I've seen...
