I actually didn't mind the altered colours. Could be one of the benefits of being colourblind.

I remember seeing the set cheap someone (possibly Play.com) but was put off by the Friedkin-supervised new encoding. I have the DVD set that will rent the BDs, see what they're like and then maybe buy this set for the plethora of extras on The French Connection. (I'm not too bothered about French Connection II.)

This is one of the downsides of not being colourblind and having 20/20 vision!

I have a soft spot for The Dead Pool. It wasn't the first Dirty Harry movie I had seen, but it was the first (and only) one I had seen at the cinema. Yes, I was under 18. One of the perks of having as mother who worked in a small cinema.

Just watched Altitude. Not a bad film although it never seemed as tense and suspenseful as it probably wanted to be. Worth a watch though.

Agreed, I think Night of the Creeps is the superior film for comedy (and probably horror too) and is a better film all round... but the thing I loved about VAMP is the fact that it wears its '80s-ness' on its sleeve and Grace Jones makes the film for me (but then again I'm a big GRACE JONES fan, love her music).

Watched Halloween H:20 last night on BBC1. Bloody awful stuff. The ending's even worse if you watch it bearing in mind the way the following film retcons the depiction of events.

Totally agree Paul - I don't understand why so many people like it...
