"Trans Europ Express". I'm struggling to think of the best way to describe this film. It's arty to a degree and plays with the conventions of cinema, but having spent the last year watching shit loads of 1960s American sexploitation films, TEE comes across as a fairly average "roughie".

The Heroic Trio and Executioners (Heroic Trio 2).
Revisiting The Heroic Trio after all these years was like revisiting a dear old friend and I actually got emotional about it.
This film somehow gels perfectly.

I also revisited Executioners which is much darker and doesn't really work on some levels imho but I did like it better than on a previous viewing.

Heroic Trio 1+2 (spoilers)

After reading a couple of previous posts I invested in "Dagon". Watched it just now and really enjoyed it. I love that this site introduces me to films that would probably otherwise pass me by. Thanks guys.

Cool

Just watched DEAD SNOW, this time on Blu, still the best Euro snowbound Nazi-zombie around. A fun nod to both NOTLD and EVIL DEAD with laughs and enough gore to stain the snow red this Norwegian horror fits the bill for cult viewing with ease.

Lucky McKee's The Woman.

Absolutely magnificent. Quite possibly the film of the year for me.

And a sequel that's better than it's predecessor, which doesn't really ever happen except in the Dollars trilogy.

just finished watching Human Centipede 2, it was just rubbish and offensive to the medium of film. I wasn't offended by the content but by how people would even consider investing in what is essentially one slow, boring build up to a 30 minute fart joke pay off. Utter trash and a disgrace to horror cinema.

Prince of Darkness (1987) - 3.5/5

Pretty good Carpenter flick, I enjoyed its quantum physics technobabble. Bring on a Blu-ray, I say!

The Strangers (2008) - 1/5

Take away everything great about 'Funny Games' and this is what you get. Tedious pointless borefest.

I watched V For Vendetta on TV last night. I still on't like how they turned it into a pro-liberalism story instead of a anarchistic one, but Hugo Weaving is great, and the Evey transformation sequence is superb. If they wanted a film against conservatism though, they should've written one themselves!
