Yeah, I don't get all the hatred for this film, I can't comment on the sequel as I haven't seen it yet.

For the record I dislike the avp films immensly, they just arn't scary or even that interesting. Though avp 1 is award winning compared to the dire second movie... back to topic. Watched an odd little indie movie called ink. It was very pretencious and self indulgent. Sort of like a first time film from a student film-maker. Yet still I found myself enjoying it. It was sort of like an american mirrormask or neverwhere. |

Don't Go In The House - good ol' sleazy piece of exploitation. Not as violent as I was expecting, choosing to focus on the character's decline a bit more than just the standard body count of similar films. Dealt with the childhood abuse theme better than I was expecting if still a little clunky, Let down by the coda though which didn't seem to make much sense to me and felt a little bit tacked on - was the kid at the end the child you saw with his mother in the street earlier? Dead Snow - enjoyable splatter-filled zombie film but nowhere near as good as I was expecting due to the word of mouth of others. Still a highly enjoyable way to spend an hour and a half though. |
