Hated this at the time, as i felt the all star cast over balanced the actual premise, and i still have misgivings about this, as i feel that along with WAH this is his most "by-the-numbers" period imo. You can almost see Lynch bucking against this in the frankly deranged giallo-esque ending, though elements of this contradict the tv series.

The bit in the club still rocks though
Currently watching episode 16 of this show!!!

Just watched Devil Times Five Like a sort of anti Swallows & Amazons, this tale of youth gone wild isn't as cute as Melody, nor as searing an indictment as Wild In The Streets but is enjoyable if only for the fact that one of the adult leads resembles Nosher Powell to an almost twin- ish degree, so much so that i kept expecting him to "lamp" the little darlings!!

Also re-perused (?) Alternative 3 the expose of shenanigans in space. highly recommended to fans of Look Around You and the X Files!!

STRAW DOGS REMAKE.

Ok, first things first. The film Looks great, its very well shot and looks fantastic on blu-ray. The actings pretty good as well. Centering the film on a small southern town where the two major pastimes are religion and football, then having the violent protagonists as ex footballers and their drunken coach, with the sherriff an iraq war veteran at least gives the film a little depth and dynamic and makes a few interesting observations about modern america.

The major problem is that anyone whose seen the peckinpah origional will probably sit there and think whats the point, as its definately inferior to that version. Its not a terrible film just rather pointless.

A great take on the vampire genre that has been hit badly in recent times not mentioning any films in particular. Yet again Park Chan-Wook does not disappoint.

Are you suggesting that the vampire genre is in the twilight of its years?
