Just watched Trenchard-Smith's DEAD END DRIVE IN....not a patch on TURKEY SHOOT,but an entertaining little exploitationer all the same. Vip's,regarding hospital mate, get a portable dvd player-they're allowed now.

I watched Immoral Tales yesterday and it was one of the most boring films i have ever seen.

Immoral Tales had the dubious honour of having been classified X by the GLC in the 70's ( along with Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Beast)after running into problems with the BBFC.

Last night i watched Franco Prosperi's Wild Beasts. It was great fun especially the bit where a cheetah chases a car down the street. Could have done without seeing live rats burned to death or tigers being let loose in an abbatior to attack cows and pigs.

100 Tears Went out with an NC 17 in the States which is very unusual for a slasher film but presumably it's because cuts for an R would have been pretty extensive as it is an extremely graphic and bloody film. The scenes with the 2 journalists are quite boring otherwise the film probably works best as a comdey, because it is difficult to take any of it it seriously. So bad it's good. |

I've only seen "100 Tears" in a slightly cut, but still pretty bloody German version. I thought it was fun enough- and as I consider clowns to be generally creepy, it even had a few chills for me to offer. Yet you're right. The flick really doesn't take itself serious, which is actually the best move given its overall very "B-ish" nature. |

SON OF RAMBOW-Not bad. THE BOY WITH THE STRIPED PYJAMAS-Excellent drama. QUANTUM OF SOLACE-Did this not pick up a lot of negativity on release? Don't see why,IMHO it was FAR superior to CASINO ROYALE..... I much rather prefer Bond as a psychotic hardman, than a cheesy cad. What do you all reckon?

Totally agree, which might not come as a surprise given that my favourite Bond flick of all time is "Licence to Kill"! |

SORRY Peter, Nightmare Hostel. Its on Lighthouse / Asylum Home Entertainment and has on of those nifty wee warning boxes with a warning of "Graphic violence, horror and nudity." im a sucker for those. hehehe. I got the American bit from the big "US UNRATED Directors Cut" written by the title. Ever heard of it.? Anyone know if its BBFC cut.? Last edited by vipco; 8th April 2009 at 02:52 PM. |
