Ended up watching Inseminoid (1981). In hindsight it wasn't too bad. Hopefully will fit a couple more films in this evening.

CRUEL PASSION - A film which flaunts an association with 'Justine' but predictably is about as truly Sadean as an episode of Howard's Way. I always find it frustrating when a movie gives me a few images I really get off on, then nothing else. In this case, the sole point of interest pour moi was a dream sequence featuring Koo Stark writhing on a candle-lit cross surrounded by a crowd of PVC clad zombies. Seriously, if you're going to throw that in, make sure the rest of the film stands up. And it doesn't. It's a plodding travelogue following K Stark's sexual renaissance as she heads from nunsploitation convent to decadent London, where tedium prevails anyway. Beyond said perv zombie crucifixion dream things only pick up with a couple of meagre whippings and a last half hour swervy plot turn into Regency era western territory. Annoying, because I wanted to like it.

I like 'Inseminoid', but have you ever seen 'Prey' by the same guy? It's such a weird film. Like a 70s 'Play For Today' messed up by a lame surrealist... I don't know. It just kind of floats in its own specimen jar.

BBC News - No evidence of mermaids, says US government
It's great when government bodies do something like that – it's a little like when an MP or Council (I forget which) responded to a letter admitting there was no plan in place for how they would deal with a zombie invasion!

Fine selection of films there, bizarre_eye. I should probably post a montage of the films I've seen every fortnight or so.

I've been watching a lot of films this year.

I've watched 111 films since the beginning of May. I continue to have no life.

I've seen 580 this year, plus four seasons of Futurama, five seasons of The Sopranos (I'm halfway through season six), the first season of The Wire, all four series of Blackadder, Game of Thrones season two and other TV shows which I can't remember at the moment!

I haven't seen "Prey" yet but I have the Norman J Warren collection with it in, it's the only one I haven't seen yet.

**** me, Nos! That's a lot of viewing hours.

I'm not sure I could watch that many if I tried. Maybe I have more of a 'life' than I thought. A shame, really.
