Not quite as good as PUMA MAN but very enjoyable and has better f/x. The VCI DVD is ok but they've clearly took a slightly cropped full frame print and then cropped it even more to 16/9.

The People Who Own The Dark/Último deseo - 1976 Spain d:León Klimovsky

Really pretty bloody good mid-70s horror-SF from people more familar for less well accomplished but better known films than this.

This has a superb and very creepy atmosphere and the cast are really very decent indeed. It riffs on better known films (Night Of The Living Dead, The Omega Man) but definitely has its own bleak charm.

Code Red's release is somewhat apologetic, but without it this would probably be a lost film, and that would be a tragedy as this is a cracking genre piece. It comes very highly recommended by me. Pretty damned essential I'd say, actually.

I started watching Tokyo Gore Police on Netflix but, due to Sky Broadband being really shit, I had to give it up after an hour because I was sick of it buffering every 5 minutes.

Pleasingly bonkers. Never thought I'd see a giallo where a woman gets trapped in a web and menaced by the most unconvincing giant spider I have ever seen

I know exactly what you mean as I watched the BD this week and the spider has obviously been filmed in extreme close-up and then, for the shots of the web, it's clearly a man wearing a top with black (and slightly furry) sleeves and giant black oven mitts!
