I watched the Blu-Ray of Terminator that I purchased earlier in the day. I don"t recall having seen the film for a while (more than 5 years) and was surprised by how fresh it still seems, particularly when compared to the first sequel.

I also finally got around to watching The Prodigies an animated film that shares some similarities with The Chronicle, X-Men and Akira. I originally saw this in the cinema and must say that the home video experience was much more satisfying (although this could also be because I watched it in 2D this time around).

Just wait till Code Red issue a musical. They'll be the best thing since sliced bread.

ATTACK THE BLOCK. Hugely entertaining tale of redemption set on a South London housing estate with big black hairy aliens on the rampage. I especially like the use of language throughout the film. I have no idea if it's realistic or not, however it flows with a rhythm that echoes the soundtrack and the pace of the film incredibly well, giving an extra aural depth the the overall feeling of the film. A very funny film with an understated political and social subtext which is quite moving at times. I seen this several times now and it never fails to put a huge smile on my face.

Watched EXCISION, a journey into the mind of a disturbed teenage girl who will go to any lengths to save her sister, no matter how extreme.

Supurb performances all round in this, including Annalynne mccord in the main role and Traci lords giving it the best performance of her career. The film also gives us a great cameo from John Waters and smaller roles for Malcom macdowell and Ray wise (and i'll watch anything with Ray wise in) some very disturbing imagery as well, including some very gory surgical fantasy sequences.
I'm betting this film will divide opinion down the middle but I liked it.

Watched the Hara-Kiri remake today.

Only watched the original about 2 weeks ago, a much better movie imo. It's not really something that can be remade and it almost felt like watching the same movie twice but with a flashback scene that dragged on for an hour and an ending that isn't as good.

Oh well, I will watch anything Takashi Miike but 13 Assassins was a much better Samurai flick.
