I only have the vanilla UK Anchor Bay DVD and would like to know if the extras are worth upgrading to the two disc edition?

I watched my all time favourite film with the boy MTDS this afternoon, THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN. First off the Blu-ray looks great and really adds to the viewing experience of the film. I love this film on so many levels, from it's anti-god and anti-religious stance, it's set design and lighting that borrow so much from German Expressionism right through to some of the borderline hysteria that passes as acting from some of the cast. The film positively drips with images of death, funeral rites and resurrection. I also like the very knowing camp humour that runs throughout the film which is often mixed with the macabre.

He enjoyed it but not as much as the cartoon "Alvin and the Chipmunks meet Frankenstein" or "The Monster Squad". Then again he is only 5. Still, he does have a picture of Karloff as the Monster up on his bedroom wall amongst all the "Clone Wars" posters.

I think it was that I went into it not expecting anything much and was plesantly surprised.

Demi, give it a go again. It's one of the more enjoyable of the films that I have seen recently, but I do have a high tolerance for Aussie movies.

An import job then I suspect. Bloody distributors are worse than the bbfc. The films still an 18 so the decision just seems bizarre. I'm boycotting woman in black for the same reason.

I didn't think The Woman In Black suffered as a result of the distributors decision whereas Taken 2 really did. The decision made for The Thompsons is, as you say, really bizarre though.
