Exclamation Possible Spoilers

Armageddon (1998) The end of the world is nigh! (Again! Third time this week!). A big budget disaster movie which sees an oil drilling team sent to an inbound meteor in order to drill deep enough to plant and then explode a nuclear device that will break the errant rock into enough pieces to pass us by.
Not only has the movie got massive set pieces and spectacular scenes but a great musical score by Trevor Rabin full of forboding and a sense of helplessness, (Yeah it's a favourite! ). The only real nitpick I have is the fact that just after the device goes off the explosion can be seen in the skies from several points around the Earth, India and the US! I was under the impression that the Earth was round!

December 8th.

Werewolves on Wheels (1971)

A mind melting mix of Sons of Anarchy, Race with the Devil and Sam Katzman's The Werewolf . Werewolves on Wheels gives the horror fan everything they could possibly ask for - sexy skull dances, violence, black magic and the ropiest werewolf ever seen. Ideas are slammed at the viewer constantly, its almost as if the film makers wanted to throw everything into the pot and see how it turns out. Despite its title the werewolf only shows up for the last three minutes, but this doesn't matter. Its just a case of lie back, kick off your shoes and let the madness envelop you.

Terrific fun.

So, here's the last films I've seen from around Halloween time! Urgh - my viewing habbits have slacked so much. I think I need a new genre to explore and get excited about - Post-Apocalyptic action sounds gooood!

What's the one on the right of Skyfall?
Looks Japanese?

It was pretty good, but Kristen Stewart was far too lightweight for the role; the film required an actress with a bit more gravitas in the role. Also, I really didn't like the dwarves played by 'regular sized' actors (Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Toby Jones etc) and shrunk with computer software). Warwick Davis said it was similar to white actors blacking up to play black characters, and I'm inclined to agree with him.
