Plus I think Dem might need to alter the contrast. Its not that dark. I had no troubles on my little telly. Its a Tarsem singh film so all visuals no plot. My main gripe with it is the total bastardisation of the mythology. Part of it suggests its trying to go for a more 'realistic' take on the myth, then it throws in total fantasy scenes. Its a pretty, but inconcistant mess thats probably best used as a blu-ray tech demo.

I'd just watched the Hitchcock thriller I Confess an hour before which is very moodily lit at times, yet that looked perfect.

Its probably just a pet hate for me. Iif you are going to have a battle why have it in dimly lit caves?

I think its more the visual style. I never had any problems making out what was going on. Just thought it was rather hollow and mediocre. Tarsem has only mad two films I consider decent. THE CELL and THE FALL.

You possibly have a point there. If i wasn't so bored by the story i would never have noticed the darkness.

Pitch Black, the Vin Diesel movie, is set in pretty much total darkness yet thats brilliant.

if you're worrying about the contrast on your TV or the film's interior logic, then you clearly don't find the film that interesting. That's happened to me several times, most recently during Man of Steel!

I only know the first one and "Halloween II". I love both movies and always try to watch them as a double bill.
