Taken out of its context it sounds wrong.

If it disturbed you then there's something amiss.

Disturbing was probably to strong a word, as a child I didn't think twice about the opening, but as a adult I can see problems with it, probably because I've gotten a lot more jaded the older I've gotten. Buts that's enough of that.

Back on topic , just finished the hobbit and have too say I'm not keen on it, seems too long winded and too much has been added. Not a bad film just wish it had stuck to the book and was a one or two movies instead of milking it for money. Which is strange as I enjoyed it when I saw it at pictures but later viewings have left me feeling less impressed with it.

That's what happened with me and the original trilogy. Sold all the box sets years ago, and not arsed about The Hobbit. Think I must've just grown out of my brief interest in fantasy guff . . .

I haven't seen a single episode of Diff'rent Strokes and only none of it from references in other TV shows, so no comment from me!

I've just finished watching The Final Cut of Blade Runner which still stands up as a masterpiece of science fiction and one of my all-time favourite films. I'm normally against digital 'fixing' old(ish) films, but I'm glad they did something about the sky when Baty releases the dove at the end.

Just finished spider baby. Absolutely amazing , fantastic weird and crazy especially for a film of its age, might well be on of mt top ten horrors now. Great performance from Lon Chaney jr and Sid haig. Don't know why it took me over a week to get around to watching it.

Just finished watching the remake. Had doubts about the POV style, but that's only one aspect of it, there's lots of interesting and effective camera work and some really good cinematography all round - a highly artistic film. The score and L.A setting kind of reminded me of Drive. No grindhouse credentials, far too polished for that.

Red Lights (2012) Interesting but just short of good!

I recommended this to Nosferatu when we were discussing Carole Bouquet on another thread.

Did you spot the homage to the original's poster, nice touch I thought?
