Olympus Has Fallen
Basically Die Hard in the White House. I actually enjoyed this a lot, Gerard the Butler I find a very watchable actor in whatever he does. There's nothing here that will blow your mind and some of the plot details are frankly daft but it's still a decent actioner.
Kick Ass 2
I loved the first one and this isn't far behind. In fact in some ways this sequel improves on its predecessor. I felt as though this one wasn't trying as hard to be offensive, it has a steadier more relaxed tone. It does admittedly have a somewhat saggy middle section but the last forty minutes or so makes up for it. Here's hoping a third instalment happens.

Rogue - Oz crocodile film, good popcorn chomper nothing great but noting terrible either.

Hard Candy - Pretty effective low budget film, dont expect much blood, just tension, the 14 year old just seems too adult for her age for my liking thats my main gripe

I really like Rogue (and Black Water). I haven't seen Hard Candy in a long time, the thought it was excellent. The main character, Hayley, is played by Ellen Page, who was 17 or 18 years old when it was made and, if I remember correctly, is meant to be older than 14, using that age as 'bait', though that could just be my interpretation.

yeah nothing mentioned in the film suggests she is older, but she had also lied about everything else to Jeff so maybe her age was lied about too, was a good film especially for the budget.

I was assumed she was there to 'trap' him so, as you said, everything she said about herself was false – there's a very low probability a 14-year-old would have the capacity and wherewithal to go through with such a plan and everything it entailed.

I'll have to watch it again sometime in the next couple of days.

funnily enough Half A Loaf Of Kung Fu is on my "to watch" pile...

had a bit of a Godzilla marathon in the last few weeks

Godzilla (Godzilla, King of the Monsters) [1954]
Godzilla Raids Again [1955]
King Kong vs. Godzilla [1962]
Mothra vs. Godzilla [1964]
Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster [1964]
Invasion of Astro-Monster (Godzilla vs. Monster Zero) [1965]
Ebirah, Horror of the Deep (Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster) [1966]
Son of Godzilla [1967]
Destroy All Monsters [1968]
All Monsters Attack (Godzilla's Revenge) [1969]
Godzilla vs. Hedorah (Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster) [1971]
Godzilla vs. Gigan [1972]
Godzilla vs. Megalon [1973]
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla

on the whole 9/10. some are a lot better than others, the only one i didn't like was all monsters attack.

the manitou

its unintentional funny in places and some of the actors are not right for the roles mainly Curtis. but it had a certain something and i ended up enjoying, especially the last 30 minutes or so. 7.5/10

Colossus - The Forbin Project

first time viewing this just like manitou. fantastic a true classic and also very chilling and ahead of its time. recommended to anyone who has not seen it before. can't help but think this in some way influenced the terminator films. 9.5/10
