The Town That Dreaded Sundown Yes the original. Boring. Mystified by the appeal of this film, kept waiting for it to get going but it didn't. There was this recurring goofy theme going on with the Sparkplug character that just cut short any atmosphere the film might have built up. Trombone stabbing was a bit of a novelty though...I'll give it that - but even that just seemed absurd and vaguely funny in a confused sort of way.

I thought it was really slow and not much happened. I'm thinking the new one (a "meta-sequel") will be much better. Really like the way they've approached that.

Survivor (2015) A US official is forced to go on the run in London after being framed for crimes she didn't commit. I won't beat about the bush. Survivor is flawed, quite badly at times but it's also a fun way to spend 90 minutes. The film is fast paced as it should be when it's basically James Bond pursuing Alice from Resident Evil across London and then to New York's Times Square for the finale. The film boasts a decent cast throwing in Dylan McDermott, Robert Forster, Angela Bassett, Frances De La Tour and Roger Rees in his last film appearance. A film i definitely enjoyed, but as i say it is flawed, however there is a hell of a lot worse out there. |
