To suggest it's only 12% better than Hellraiser III is a crime against film making.
Well when you put it like that...

I try not to think about these kind of things too much though as it could drive a person insane ...it's difficult to rate and compare films sometimes when they're worlds apart. I have Seven Samurai ranked identically to The Gore Gore Girls for instance, which would probably cause most film scholar's to choke on their houmous but there are a lot of factors to take into account!

Exactly!

I'd actually be inclined (if presented with the option) to choose to watch The Gore Gore Girls over Seven Samurai 99% of the time. Yes: Seven Samurai is a classic film that I'd urge people with even the smallest interest in cinema to check out (gorgeous cinematography, the much referenced/homaged/copied plot blah blah blah), but I in no way consider it the masterpiece that most self-confessed film fans do. I actually find it to be over melodramatic - and dare I say it - even boring and a little silly in places (in an out of place kind of way before people start questioning my sanity even more so than they may be doing already what with me complaining in terms of silliness in one breath whilst discussing a HGL film in another! ). In comparison, yes, The Gore Gore Girls is trashy and was probably made for the price of a TV dinner but it's damn fun, entertaining, and for me, holds more re-watch value than Seven Samurai, which is why I own it and don't own and will probably never own SS, which in itself is one of those 'must watch' classics that has been ticked off the watchlist.

I've never seen Seven Samurai and have no inclination to watch it.

I'm more than happy to stick with The Magnificent Seven instead.

Naturally, i own The Gore Gore Girls though!

Incidentally, I have The Magnificent Seven rated the same as Demons 2!

(both of which are higher than Seven Samurai)

To me that's like genocide in the film world as Demons 2 is a pet hate of mine.

However. I do know others love it so hopefully you are one of those and it's a complement to Brynner and co.

I know it's generally ill-thought of by many, which is why I drew the comparison, however I'm in the minority who really enjoy it!

Yes.

Although it's incomplete - many a film missing due to wanting to re-watch before I rate, and also there are a fair few missing from their database which I can't rate.

This is generally the primary resource I use to do my 'top' lists as you can filter/sort on all manner of things making it extremely easy to cater for Nordy's 'Top Ten Tuesday' lists for instance.
