giant_from_unknown.jpg GIANT FROM THE UNKNOWN (1958) Deaths of people and animals and local legends of spirits on Devils Crag lead a scientist group to believe a giant 500 year old Spanish conquistador stalks the mountains again. Enjoyable little horror. The usual story..no-one believes the scientists and the local sheriff accuses the hero of the murders. Make up for the giant man was done by legend Jack Pierce and the big man himself is played by Buddy Baer (Ursus in Quo Vadis) . |

Legend of Boggy Creek is brilliant. I actually still think it's really creepy and as a kid found it very scary. |

o_night-life-of-the-gods-1935-alan-mowbray-b0e1.jpg NIGHT LIFE OF THE GODS (UNIVERSAL 1935) An eccentric scientist has an invention witch turns objects to stone. A ring on his finger can turn people to statues but they retain their minds. After turning most of his awful family to stone, he heads on out in to the night and meets the lovely Meg. Together they go off and turn various people and even police cars to stone. Taking refuge in a museum they are in a room of statues of various gods. They wonder that if the gods returned today, would they be able to handle modern life. They then start bringing the statues of the gods to real life and take them partying out on the town... Almost at one time a lost film, the movie has appeared once more but only in very poor prints. Still good to see the film and I enjoyed it. The film is played as comedy and it never lets up on the banter and is sometimes quite loud and rattles along at a nice pace. So glad I have seen this now. I waited so long to see a print. |
