Glad you did, clearly it was worth it. I didn't get to see One Cut Of The Dead, looking forward to TWF putting it out on BD. Everyone seemed to be raving about it.

Worst of the festival for me was the actual film Fright Fest though. Dire.
I managed to get a ticket for Crystal Eyes on the Monday in the reserve queue as Alan recommended it to me especially being a giallo fan and i didn't want to watch Field Guide to Evil due to hearing bad things. One Cut of the Dead is getting a cinema release in the UK in November and needs to be seen but i do recommend you go in without reading about it.

Hotel(2004)

Austrian film directed by Jessica Hausner. And is about a young girl called Irene who starts a new job as a receptionist in a hotel deep in the Austrian woods, after the girl who previously worked there mysteriously disappeared.

Not really a film i can highly recommend as there's not really a lot to it. It's difficult to say if it's a horror film or a mystery, as it's left up to the viewer to interpret what's going on.
There's references to an old witch who supposedly lived in the woods and other people who strangely disappeared as well, but it's never
really explained if that is the reason or not.

The whole film is incredibly slow paced, although, i don't really mind that compared to a lot of the Hollywood releases.
As for the cast, they do a good job but are a cheerless bunch, barely managing a smile throughout the whole film. But at the same time, there's something strangely compelling about the film which kept me intrigued with its eerie atmosphere throughout the meagre running time of barely 80 minutes. 6.5/10.

Leviathan. The crew of a deep sea mining base discover a downed Russian submarine that contains something very nasty in this late 80s sci-fi horror starring Peter Weller, Ernie Hudson and Amanda Pays. Leviathan has a solid cast and a pretty intriguing and compelling first hour, but just descends into absolute silliness in the last half hour. Shame.

Corruption.

Peter cushing is a top surgeon who's fiance is a beautiful model and a bit of a flirt. When he gets dragged to a party by her he gets jealous when she starts getting undressed for racy photos for her photographer played by Anthony booth from the Confessions films. Him and Cushing get into a fight which results with a light falling onto her face and permantly scarring her.

Wow, this is one top film from the great peter cushing that i never came across before. He is on top form in this as the surgeon going insane to find a cure for his fiances condition and resorting to murdering young girls to do so. and probably one of the sleziest films he starred in. It made me laugh as well to see the legendery star who comes across as rather prudish at times slicing up naked hookers.

very well done though and acted. although the goofy looking gang who break into his house in one scene made me laugh in their funny looking clothes. one even wore a cape. maybe he thought he was auditioning for Dracula. and then there was the one chap who looked like a cross between Les dawson and Benny Hill.

top stuff, despite the silly ending. and co starring a young Kate o'mara as well. 89.0 out of 100.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. 2015.

Hunt tracks down a organisation called The Syndacate, which the C.I.A believe does not exist and shut down I.M.F and label Hunt as rogue agent.

This was a great instalment to the franchise, from start to finish there is action from the word go and great stunt work from Tom Cruise who knows how to hang on from a plane, and small blend of comedy which works in well and the car and bike chases was well choreographed.

Sean Harris plays the leader of The Syndacate, his acting from the movie Creep does seem to blend in with this role as a guy who is menacing and very cold hearted. Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner join in as the trio who seem to have good chemistry with acting and comedy styles, there is a small but good appearance by Alec Baldwin is the is he or isn't good or bad guy. 9 out of 10.

She's All That. Freddie Prinze Jr is a high school jock dumped by his girlfriend a week before prom who bets he can turn any girl into a prom queen. Enter the 'dorky' (yet still breathtakingly gorgeous, of course) Rachael Leigh Cook. Mediocre late 90s teen romantic comedy that has not overly improved with age. The two main things I remember from this back in the day still remain true - 1) Cook's character was actually better looking before her mainstreamising 'transformation' and 2) It's incredibly obvious to the point of actually being distracting that it was shot at the same school as Buffy. I was sat there at the cinema going "It's ******* Sunnydale High!" And then Sarah Michelle Gellar pops up, non-speaking, in the cafeteria...

The Girl Next Door.

A high school student Mathew kidman(Emile Hirsh) is a big overacheiver but niave and never has fun until he falls for his sexy new neighbour Danielle(Elisha Cuthbert). they get together and start a relationship but everything changes when he discovers that she used to be a porn star. and to make matters worse her ex porn producer shows up wanting to drag her back to the profession.

I liked this film a lot, and is not your typical teen comedy. when you first see the cover it looks like a full on sex comedy about the porn industry. and although there are a few raunchy bits in this film, including a scene at a vegas porn convention it is more of a love story with some very funny scenes.

All the actors i thought did a great job and Elisha Cuthbert is absolutely gorgeous and was just superb as Danielle the ex porn star.

All in all, this is a good and entertaining movie with nice chemistry between the leads, and a film that definiatly lifts your spirits and i award 88.2 out of 100.
