A group of young doctors set out too discover it there is life after death by killing themselves and bringing themselves back after a set time, things soon take a sinister turn when the sins of the past comeback to haunt them , well acted and directed with some chilling imagery, another film that proves that there is nothing quite as creepy as children. 8/10 Now watching Just started watching , have to say it looks absolutely stunning in 4k the colours and level of detail in the opening scenes is amazing , it's also terrible , not the picture quality but Shelly Duval she looked bad enough in SD and HD but here she's the stuff of nightmares! |

Tomorrow Never Dies. 1997. James Bond is on a mission to stop media Mogul Elliot Carver for starting World War III between the U.K. and Chinese Government so he can have world global media. Pierce Brosnan second appearance and who better to have a hook up with is Teri Hatcher who looks stunning from behind and Jonathan Pryce as media magnet Elliot Carver who seems to know the news first hand and prints it with his own paper Tomorrow. What i like about this is the opening with nearly every terrorist at a flea market and Robinson making a few jokes, M and the Admiral (Geoffrey Palmer) comments to each other is just like re-watching a episode of As Time Goes By. Bond ends up teaming with Chinese secret agent Wai Lin played by Michelle Yeoh who Carver seems to imitate her fight scenes comically. Brosnan seems more confident in this and easily liked in the role and does seem to pack a powerful punch that at times it doesn't seem to work a lot. Here he is given a BMW7 series that comes with a remote in the form of a Sony Ericsson (ah one of the best phones)with some good gadgets. Think this one one of Brosnan's best films in the franchise (IMO). Tomorrow-Never-Dies.jpg Elliot Carver: The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.

The World Is Not Enough. 1999. James Bond is sent to protect the heiress of a oil pipeline Elektra King in fear her kidnapper Renard, a man who can feel no pain is maybe after her. When M goes missing Bond thinks Elektra knows more than she is telling and teams up with a nuclear Physicist Dr. Christmas Jones to deactivate a nuclear bomb. This one took a few attempts to watch and appreciate and i'm still not daft on it, i like the idea that Bond is up against a terrorist who has a bullet in his head that's slowly killing him and has no pain threshold. Robert Carlye who plays Renard is good as the bad guy and has his way with Sophie Marceau as Elektra who plays a gentle girl who was kidnapped and on the other hand is a pure bitch. Denise Richards is a actress i have never been a big fan of and really don't see the attraction to her being a Bond Girl except for her looks which she must have relied on. Robbie Coltrane returns as ex K.G.B. agent Valentin to now a legitimate business man in caviar and casino, he does bring some elements of laughs with his henchman played by Goldie. Desmond Llewelyn makes his sadly last appearance as Q (very sad day that happened) but is succeeded in R with the form on John Cleese who does have some sarcastic comedy points and tries on a new jacket which Q happily shuts him up in. Like some of the other Bond films this may end up growing on me better will have to wait and see. Like Tomorrow never dies and this i did have the Play station games and best hours spent playing them. 4xAb2zAe5Pmno928hBQqff4RVwr.jpg Julietta the Cigar Girl: Would you like to check my figures? James Bond: Oh, I'm sure they're perfectly rounded.

28 Weeks Later & When Evil Calls 28 Weeks Later Sequel to 28 Days Later which sees The Rage Virus apparently over with so The Americans come to The UK and start to rebuild and repopulate. However Robert Carlyle's wife who he thought died somehow survives and off course a new outbreak happens. I thought that this is a much better film than it's predecessor and in a way I'm kind of shocked that 28 Months Later never happened as the tease was there. Oh the supporting cast for this one has Jeremy Renner, Rose Byrne (Who looked like Jessica Alba), Imogen Poots and Idris Elba. Probably the greatest before they hit the big time cast list. When Evil Calls British version of Wishmaster where Six Form students make wishes but they don't go the way they had hoped. Chris Barrie and Sean Pertwee star. I bought this from CEX as it was cheap in the hope of unearthing a little gem and I was correct, the film was done in a anthology type of way, there is some nice gore and it's 75 minutes long, so it's perfect to watch if I haven't got much time. |
