What Justin said I assume. All I see on tapatoss is the post itself. No title box. I also can't access likes anymore, I've no idea who's liking my (admittedly limited) posts.

Body Weapon

Hong Kong Thriller which sees a sadistic gang brutally raping girls and murdering their partners. A Policewoman who is in a relationship with 2 best friends eventually marries one of them but falls victim to the gang. Now out for revenge, she vows revenge along with her other previous lover.

It sounds somewhat bizarre but it is a entertaining watch. The description on the DVD box makes out she is a seductive woman who can absolutely destroy anyone (A la Seagal, Statham or Norris) but it's not really like that, I'd say that the training methods and the portrayal of the person who helps her won't fly today.

Ah Hong Kong Legends, them and Cine Asia, the distributers who walked so Eureka and 88 Films could run. They were good, always had my interest.

Timeline

A group of Archaeologists are sent back to Medieval France to rescue their Professor, who was sent there. They are sent to the time where they help prevent the English from destroying a French Village. A mainly British Cast which contains Gerard Butler, Michael Sheen, Anna Friel and Billy Connelly along with Paul Walker. It's not bad afternoon fodder.

The 13th Warrior (1999)

Set in the 10th century Antonio Banderas plays Ahmad ibn Fadlan who teams up with Volga Vikings in order to fight an ancient evil that attacks the Norsemen each night.

Based on Michael Crichton's 1976 novel Eaters of the Dead. Along with a stirring score from Jerry Goldsmith there's some fantastic imagery throughout this film, the fire snake as the creatures come down the hill and through the woods to attack the camp is one such sight. It's a film full of spectacle with the battles nicely crafted by director John McTiernan, but it's the none action scenes where the film lacks a little. There's basically not that much story there and characterisation is minimal during the early parts of the film where I tend to think it needs to be vital so you actually care what happens to whom. Having said that, Banderas gets some fun scenes such as how he explains how he learned the Norse language and his shaping of a new sword which produces much laughter from the Vikings watching.

Crichton's story takes much from the Beowulf poem so it comes as no surprise that the 'creatures' are the Wendol, and they are certainly fearsome, beheading all they come across and never leaving any of their dead during an attack so as to create even more hysteria. They are the most impressive aspect of the film and really add to it's horror trappings, especially when it becomes known they are cannibals.

The 13th Warrior is a film that never bores, in fact it's highly watchable and yet it's never truly gripping either. I thought this when I saw it at the cinema and the many times I've seen it on dvd as well. Good but not quite a classic. Still, it's the best Beowulf movie i've ever seen.

I didn't know that, so have edited the post to put the title in the message box and will always do that in future.

Sorry Nos. I wasn't meaning to sound critical of the original post. 🫣

With such a cast in front of the camera and all the VFX wizardry that modern studios can finance, it's an impressive achievement to make a film so boring and thoroughly forgettable. I'm glad I didn't waste time and money to see it at the cinema.

This is definitely more Super Mario Bros. than Silent Hill and is definitely a contender for the (dis)honour of being the worst video game film adaptation ever made.
As a massive borderlands fan it's sad that this is the film we got I'll still have to watch it just to have seen it and now it's on Prime I will but I'm not looking forward to it.

I would also add that I don't like Eli Roth that much I can't stand Kevin Heart and Jack Black has started to grate on me too .

I didn't think you were being critical, just pointing out a flaw in the way that posts are visible on Tapatalk. It's something I didn't know because I don't use it, so one of those 'every day is a school day' moments

For what it's worth, the film doesn't feature a typical Kevin Hart performance and Jack Black's voice isn't obviously him - I found out he voiced the robot when the end credits rolled because I didn't realise it beforehand.

body weapon was cut by 3:41sec 88films could release it cause it looks like a cat III film even though its not but it is the sort of film that 88films would release uncut.

THE BLACK SCORPION (1957)

Giant Scorpions emerge from a Volcano and cause havok around the surrounding area. Among these beasts, is a much larger dominating Scorpion and the race is on to capture and destroy the creature..

Great fun movie with good stop motion effects and plenty of action.
The stop motion effects are by Willis O Brien and you can plainly see the similarities of the effects and models to that of KING KONG.
Some chilling scenes here, most notable the attack by the Scorpions on a train, where the passengers are seen screaming in the Scorpions claws.
A trip down the Volcano sees some bizarre scenes with a giant worm like creature and a spider.
