That was my thinking on it too. I was telling my wife about it last year and she told me she had the remake on DVD and that she enjoyed it so I gave it a spin.
We don't talk about it now and have decided to never mention it again!!!

A wise move! As they say, discretion is the better part of valour.

I can live with most of the changes made in the Planet Of The Apes remake. I found the film as a whole to be quite funny, though not always intentional. I just can't cope with that revised shock ending. It really does leave a sour taste. I must admit I have only seen it the once though whereas I have the original series box set from when it first came out on VHS on Widescreen and it is probably in need of a DVD upgrade from wear and tear.

Coogans Bluff - can never go wrong with Clint.

Slugs - brilliant fun from the director of 'Pieces'. Notable quote:

"Listen, honey - to tell you the truth me and Brady are going to kill some man-eating slugs. After that, how about we get naked and crazy?"

Watched Sergio Sollima's The Big Gundown this evening. A pretty entertaining Spag Western, and as usual Morricone's score was superb.

I watched "Searching for the Wrong Eyed Jesus" last night. Excellent travel/doc/musical/religious film that looks at music and Christianity in the American Deep South. Sadly it didn't have any footage of those churches where people hold poisonous snakes and drink poison to show their faith. If we had them here in Blighty I'd be a church going man

Best D'Amato film I've seen.

Prefer Anthro myself, reaps but Absurd is a more than worthy sequel in my opinion.

Watched Keoma today from the Argent Films Cult Spaghetti Western boxset and I have a new hero. Franco Nero is fantastic as Keoma a knife weilding, gunsligning, fist fighting old west cow boy.

It's such a great film, it has a pretty simple revenge based plot, but is shot beautifully by Enzo G. Castelliari, the scene near the end in the rain is particuarly stunning. I think I even prefer this to Leone's westerns. One of the thing I like most about Keoma was the way the flash backs were handled, they seemed more like charaters memories than flash backs. Also the action is great, plenty of fist fights and gun battles to keep things interesting.

[b]Keoma is an all round fantastic spagehtti western. I cant wait to check out Franco Nero in Django now as well as the third film in the set A Bullet For The General. Hopefully they'll both be as good as Keoma
