Just got back from watching Piranha 3D. I really enjoyed it, its fun, fast paced, has a good amount of practical gore (I was worred due to the CGI fish in the trailers but luckly most of the other effects aren't computer generated) and it has a underwater 3d half naked Kelly Brook (could well be a body double though).

The stand out scene is a set piece where all of the kids at spring break are out on the lake and are attacked by a huge swarm of pirahnas and massive amounts of gorey chaos are let loose with people being ripped apart left right and centre. At the end the sea is littered with corpses and body parts.

There are some fun cameos too with Richard Drefus, Christopher Lloyd, Eli Roth and even a blink and you'll miss him Greg Nicatero shot (him and Howard Berger were on special makeup effects duties). Definitely ticks all the boxes for a fun mindless explotation flick.

Fists of Steel - Enjoyable Terminator knock off from Sergio Martino, probably best known as the film in which actor Claudio Cassinelli lost his life. Like Robowar this is also mysteriously unavailable on dvd.

Yup, it's the same film.

I just found out it's available in one of those cheap multipacks you see on Amazon. Is that the version you have?.

Just watched the Julianne Moore flick ...

Shelter

Well, it started kinda promising then got a little confusing for its own good. Either I had drunk too much by the last quarter, but it seemed to get very messy. All in all a big budget episode of the X-Files.

Meh, seen better.

Watched yesterday;

NORTH SEA HIJACK-More cheese than a domino's pizza!

CATHOLIC BOYS-Nice ensemble cast for this coming of age comedy.

CASINO-Blu Ray-Not a patch on GOODFELLAS and rather overlong.....
Pesci and De Niro were far more menacing in Goodfellas.
Nice History channel doc though.....

CENTURION-A poor man's Gladiator, but once again Neil Marshall brings in a low(er) budget gem that keeps one glued from start to finish.

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2:FREDDY'S REVENGE-Hilarious Freddy sequel.
'Nuff said. Now give me those 'Fu Fingers'

:
hate Gladiator, over blown bollocks if you ask me, Loved Centurion, Michael Fassbender is awesome in this and so was Dom West. Olga Kurylenko was a bit pointless though..Never been disappointed in a Neil Marshall film yet.\

Watched Resident Evil:Apocalypse last night, not a patch on the first but my god is it fun.

have a few films sky+'d to watch...

Machine Gun Kelly - Roger Corman/Charles Bronson quickie
Purgetory - supernatural western that i haven't seen in years.
Suspiria - never seen it but it has Jessica Harper from Phantom of the Paradise in so im sold.

Friday the 13th 4. My favourite of the series

Altered States. Had never seen this before and all I can say is wow. Some trippy images(And now I know where Godflesh got their Streetcleaner image from)

Crank 2. A movie I have been avoiding as it looked ridiculous but caught it on Sky the other night and I thought it was great fun. Some outrageous action scenes and very funny
