Saw the remake of the German 2001 thriller The Experiment.

I thought it was quite good actully. A decent remake although not need original so cant say much. Was a bit short though, movie like this should be like 2 hours long imo.

I watched the Inferno BD this evening and it looks and sounds absolutely fantastic -- I can't believe the step up from DVD. I'll be to give it another few watches to see what the English stereo and Italian track are like before going on to the extra features.

So far at FF, I've seen; (very slight spoilers)

Texas Chainsaw Massacre - say no more.

Isle Of Dogs - CRAP! Just a terrible film - I found myself laughing at how bad this one was (although people did seem to like it!).

F - A great teenage hoddie-horror film with a brilliant score. Better than Them but not particularly incredible. The film seems to spend it's entirety building up to something.

Monsters - imagine something similar Cloverfield but with the whole film centering around the relationship between two people, hardly any scenes with the monsters in, no violence, no carnage, no nothing. I didn't personally like it overall - but I was expecting some monster movie mayhem. Very well made though.

Dream Home - Excellent Asian slasher film. VERY VERY gory with highly innovative kills. Some of the film drags slightly, but it's an involving story and the kills are brilliant. Also the kills are brilliant. Kills!

I Spit was one I should've got tickets to see. I wish I did now, regardless of it being cut. Monsters was on straight after I Spit so I could hear just how big the cheer for that film was after it ended. Sounds like quite a good remake.

Would be interesting if you could let us know K if the kills were of the traditional variety or the horrid new fangled CGI variety? Usually stands out like a sore thumb!

Mmm well I'd say the majority of it was practical effects with just a couple of CGI moments - but very sparsly. But rest assured all of the gore looks brilliant and the kills are just incredible - I'm sooo tempted to tell you some of the ways the characters meet their maker, but I must resist - it could spoil it for you!

I haven't seen When Evil Calls yet, Pedro, but F was by no means amazing. It was kind of built up as being this year's Trick 'R' Treat, but IMO it has nothing on that. Could've easily passed for a 15 too - EASILY. Mind you, the mate I went with LUVED this film to bits. So, you know.

the problem with When evil calls is that it was made as Mobile Phone episodic show that was badly made anyway and was only partially redeemed by Sean Pertwee's kind of crypt keeper type character who pops up to link the episodes together...a waste of time....Gemma Chan is fit though...
