Absolutely agree. Blunden was a superb film and this, together with The Railway Children, proves what a splendid director Lionel Jeffries was (we'll ignore Wombling Free).

Very true. a shame really, but true. And I forgot all about Silver Spoons. Yes, I watched that also. I also remembering watching Dark Shadows Captain Kangaroo Carol Burnett Show Reading Rainbow The Monkees I really aught to be embarrassed of myself. I watched too much television. I can't believe I made into adulthood. |

I dont have a particular favourite memory of any childhood tv/film viewing but I remember vividly The singing ringing tree,I`m sure it was split into 3 or 4 episodes on BBC way back in the day, very surreal and quite frightening in a fairytale kinda way. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052199/ |

I first saw this doubled with Chariots Of Fire, and found Gregory far superior. Great fun (and a very risque 'A'/PG indeed) and still a terrific film today. Talking of All Things Scots, Comfort And Joy and (especially) Local Hero were also excellent films. |
