Elvis ELVIS http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...u-ray_Flat.jpg KURT RUSSELL IN A CAREER-DEFINING, EMMY AWARD NOMINATED PERFORMANCE AS THE KING OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL. Just two years after Elvis Presley died, actor Kurt Russell and director John Carpenter brought him back to life in what has since become the definitive biopic of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Rarely seen in the UK since its 1979 edited theatrical release, a little seen VHS version and subsequent but infrequent TV broadcasts, John Carpenter’s Elvis now comes to DVD and Blu-ray for the first time, presented in its complete, unedited 168-minute version restored from the original film elements. |
First exclusive clip... Bosom of Abraham! |
Pure class. A legend. |
I rewatched it over the weekend and it's as good as I remember from an ancient TV broadcast when I was much younger. |
Does it include burning love or has it been removed? |
Elvis rocks the Ed Sullivan show. Camera's careful not to focus on pelvis area for fear of youth riots and cinema seat slashing... |

I thought it might be. Oh it won't spoil my enjoyment of the movie one bit. |
About the only Carpenter film I haven't seen. Heard a lot about Russell's perf as the king though. |
I've got more clips for next week. I really like the singing around the Piano scene, it's the most "mmm hmmm, Uh huh" moment in the whole movie. |
