I agree on Anatomy of Hell. What stinking pile of dog shit that was. But I get stick for liking Antichrist un-ironically (Namely from Pedro quite recently) so what do I know?

I quite liked Antichrist as well. Didn't know what the **** was going on, but there was just something about it that I liked.

But unlike other directors who pulled the same stunt. (lars von Trier i'm looking at you) once you take the porno out the equation there's nothing else of note in these films.

Try watching films by Claire Denis, she's a much better film maker.
Speaking of Denis I really want to see Bastards when it comes to Blu, looks right up my street.

Looking forward to that myself.

Have to say I 'enjoyed' Antichrist.

Antichrist is a phenomenal piece of filmmaking. My favourite thing Von Trier has done.

Glad it's not just me then. I really like his films. Not sure about Nymphomaniac though...

I really want to give Von Trier's films another chance, I was somewhat non-plussed by Antichrist and The Idiots when I saw them a few years ago.

The Idiots is certainly an acquired taste - it represents Von Trier trying to make a film to a strict coda, which he named the 'Dogme 95 Manifesto' and is definitely much more of an experimental work than most of his other films.

Antichrist is another that tends to split audiences, although I do really like it. I'd highly recommend Von Trier's 'E' (or 'Europe') Trilogy; The Element of Crime, Epidemic, and Europa; all of which are excellent and a little less divisive and controversial than either The Idiots or Antichrist. Add to those Breaking the Waves, A Dancer in the Dark, and one of my personal favourites, Melancholia and you have a impressive sample of films from one of the best directors still working today, in my opinion.

However, despite his impressive feature-film resume I still rate Von Trier's TV series 'Riget' (The Kingdom) as his best work to date.

I think with Von Trier it really begs the question do we mean 'worst movie' from a technical perspective or a personal one. Technically think Von Triers stuff is excellent but I cannot fault people for not liking them. As has been pointed out from other posts, his stuff can be quite an acquired taste. Same thing with a lot of stuff on here. From a technical standpoint Fight club is superb but some people just don't like it.

The worst film technically, is perhaps plan 9 or manos the hands of fate. They are very poorly made. But somehow I like them. Aint that strange?!
