I'm slightly more interested in the upcoming Mummy film now.

Russell Crowe is playing a certain Dr Jekyll and it's supposedly the first in a franchise of Universal monster mash ups to rival Marvel and DC.

Hope it does well to be honest.

This has actually changed my mind, but now that I'm interested I expect it to flop.

It doesn't look too bad at all. Nice that some of it's set in London too.

The thing with Mummy films is they don't have a specific genre.

The first Karloff one was a dark romance, the Hammer films were proto slashers, and the Brendan Fraser movies were action adventures.

This looks a cross between action adventure and mild horror.

Only thing still putting me off is Cruise but I suppose the role suits him as basically seems to be Ethan hunt or any other role in the last decade.

Frankenstein
Invisible man
The Wolfman

I like Tom Cruise so he's a draw for me.

I'd like it to be good - I like Cruise too for the most part - but it still looks a bit dodgy to me.

I don't dislike him, but I think they could of found someone better for the role, but he is still a huge box office draw so that should help the film.

I know what you mean, but it doesn't look any more or less dodgy than any Marvel movie.
